LaMonde Howard’s Profile in the Honors College’s Frontrunner

Excerpt from The Frontrunner, Fall 2015 Volume 1 Issue 1.

LaMonde Howard is a senior Speech Communications major, telecommunications minor at Texas Southern University. In addition to being an Honors College Scholar, Ms. Howard is a President’s Leader scholar, general university scholarship recipient, and a former UAV school of communication mentor here at Texas Southern University. She currently has a 3.97 GPA and is active in several student organizations on campus. Also, Ms. Howard brings over 25 years of work experience with corporate America through employment and as a business owner.

LaMonde Howard is a wife and mother of three. While enrolled at TSU, she has experienced many life challenges including unemployment, homelessness, car repossession, and marital problems, among other issues. She has consistently maintained focus and success in academic achievement and shares that with her fellow students on a regular basis.

Ms. Howard plans to attend graduate school in pursuit of an MFA in Screenwriting, teach undergraduate level communication/media studies and write screenplays for film and television. She has written and produced her several films that have received recognitions.
