Communication Week (Comm Week) is designed to complement, supplement, and showcase student learning modules in journalism, speech communications, media, radio/television/film, entertainment and recording careers. Innovative tactics, including current and future trends are shared by scholars, entrepreneurs and experts. This year’s TSU Comm Week’s theme was “Millennium: Honoring the Past, Treasuring the Present, Shaping the Future.” “Communication Week is integral in integrating classroom theory with real world practical experience,” said TSU School of Communication Interim Dean, Dr. Rockell Brown-Burton. “We want to provide our students with opportunities for networking to ensure their future success. We have prominent professionals confirmed to participate and share practical tips.” The week consists of guest speakers, panel discussions, journalism writing workshops, networking events, and breakout sessions centered around imparting honest and practical dialogue. A showcase of student and faculty projects are exhibited during the event and a career fair entitled “Speed Networking: Network to Show Your Net Worth” allowed students to network and connect with potential employers.
