MASOOMEH KHOSROVANI (Amir-Dokht), Ph.D., is a tenured associate professor at the School of Communication, Texas Southern University.

She received her doctorate in communication studies from Wayne State University, Michigan, and earned a master’s degree in administrative law from the National University of Iran (Tehran). She also holds a master’s degree in communication studies from the University of Detroit. Her bachelor’s degree is in business management from Tehran University. She teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses in organizational communication, health communication, communication theories, persuasion, intercultural communication and research methodology.

She has published articles in scholarly journals, and presented papers in professional conferences. Her areas of research interest are organizational communication, health communication, political communication, mass media and culture.


She has been the recipient of Communicator’s Award, School of Communication, Texas Southern University, the Teacher of the Year/McClearly, from the School of Communication, Texas Southern University and was nominee for Scholar of the Year 2008, from the School of Communication, Texas Southern University.
